Dry and canned foods no matter what the quality of ingredients are heat processed. This destroys anywhere from 70-90 percent of the naturally occurring nutrients and enzymes. It becomes virtually “dead food”. The manufacturers try to compensate for this by adding all the fancy named vitamins minerals and some, even digestive enzymes. These cannot replace the nutrients and food substances that Mother Nature has perfected in whole raw foods over the course of millions of years.

Enzymes

Enzymes are a necessity for life to exist; they are what many call our “life force”. Many researchers believe that the dwindling supply of enzymes in humans and domestic animals leads to illness and often death. We cannot make enzymes. We are born with a finite number. By eating cooked foods (dead devitalized foods) the body needs to tap into the supply already in the body to sustain any level of health. When the enzymes are depleted, the only option for the body is death. Without replenishing enzymes by eating whole raw foods, the body is forcing the pancreas to do most of the digestion which it was never designed to do. A study by E. Howell “Enzyme Nutrition” (Avery Publishing 1985) found that wild mice had 1/3rd the size of pancreas as their laboratory counterparts who were fed a processed lab chow.

Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and are also altered by heat, in turn affecting the bioavailability. 25 amino acids have been recognized. 10 or 11 are essential and cannot be produced by the body. They are derived only by what the body ingests and need to be consumed at the same meal for proper utilization.
