2008 EVENTS

The Greyhound Supporters of the National Capital Region is proud to sponsor an afternoon of dining and learning with Dr. Guillermo Couto, DVM Diplomate ACVIM, and professor at the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences of the Ohio State University.

Dr. Couto is a world-renown veterinary, with speaking engagements all around the world. This event offers all dog owners in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and eastern Ontario, the opportunity to hear Dr. Couto speak about canine cancer, current cancer-related research projects, ongoing canine cancer treatments at the University of Ohio and much more.

The Greyhound Supporters would like to extend the invitation to all greyhound owners in the GTA and beyond to attend this learning opportunity of a lifetime. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, and please feel free to share this information with anyone whom you think might be interested in attending. This event is open to everyone and their greyhounds who would like to attend.

The Canadian dollar rates quoted above are per room, per night, non-commissionable and are subject to all applicable taxes and availability. Currently, the following taxes apply: the Ontario Accommodation Tax of 5% and the Goods and Service Tax of 6%. All taxes are subject to change.
There will also be a charge of $10 per night for our pet friendly rooms.

INDIVUDUAL RESERVATIONS:
Your delegates are responsible for making their own reservations, and to ensure that they receive the negotiated rates, they must specify Cancer Awareness Seminar when reserving their room. For reservations, your attendees may call Reservations at (519) 836-1240. Once a reservation has been made, any changes must be made directly through our Reservations Department. Should it be necessary to cancel a reservation, deposits will be refunded if the Ramada Guelph receives notice of cancellation at least 72 hours prior to arrival. Please note and retain the cancellation number quoted by the Reservations Agent at the time the cancellation is made.

Teleclass:  Introduction to Animal Communication
This course looks at our animal friends on many levels.  What's missing in how we communicate with each other?  What could our animal friends really be trying to tell us?  How can we send an absolutely clear message?  How is telepathic communication really possible?  Learn about calming signals, become aware of  animal energy and experience how animals sense their world.  This course will take your understanding and relationship with your animal friends to a new level.  It is  a first step in  learning telepathic animal communication, and is excellent preparation for any basic level communication workshop.

Teleclass:  Bach Flower Remedies for Animals    
Explore how you can help your animal friends heal emotionally with the gentle and safe wildflower essences discovered by Dr. Edward Bach.  The Remedies are easy to learn and to use, and have proven themselves over 70 years.  Rescue Remedy and several of the other 38 will be discussed - for stress, fear, clinginess, jealousy, aggression, anxiety, lack of confidence and more.  The Remedies are also effective in helping animals to move forward and recover emotionally from past abuse, neglect or rescue situations.  Your individual cases will be discussed as a group and a blend of Remedies selected and sent to you for your animal friend.  Interactive classes via telephone conferencing with Sue Becker BFRP, CTTP.  Calls are recorded and can be accessed for up to two weeks after the classes.

Teleclass:  Aging, Illness and Beyond
When our animal friends are ill,  recovering from surgery or getting on in years,  we want to be able to support them effectively yet lovingly.  This course will show you methods to improve their quality of life, bring comfort, and  deepen your connection during these challenging times.  You will learn ways to support  your animals on their physical, emotional, and energy levels.  We will also explore simple methods of connecting with our animal friends while they are in physical and non-physical form.  Other areas discussed are  considerations in making important decisions, a look at complementary therapies, how to help animals cope with the loss of another, and much more.
All your animal friends - even young, healthy ones -  can benefit physically and emotionally from these skills through improved relaxation, calmness and connection to you.
